The take off of an Atlantic Puffin is much more controlled than their chaotic landing style. A simple hop in the air, or jumping off a cliff with a flutter of their wings to propel them in the right direction is all that’s required. On their descent they guide and the winds and thermals do the rest. By using a slow shutter speed it’s easier to visualise the wing movement as shown by the translucency in the wings.
