The gannet colony at Hermaness comes in the most spectacular surroundings. A raw landscape, rugged rocks and looking out to sea it appears largely untouched by the human hand (aside from the bleating sheep behind you).

By using a long exposure I was able to remove the distraction from the breaking sea creating a milky effect, and retain the detail in the gannet colony in the cliffs.
