Ballet in the mist
Ballet in the mist
On a small local lake two pairs of local grebes had begun their mating rituals. The early mornings being the best time to witness this and when the light was at its best.
I stood in the lake in waders with the camera on my tripod, the barrel of the lens sat just above the surface of the water to give as intimate a view of their dance as possible.
Just as the sun began to rise over a misty lake, one of the pairs began performing their courtship dance. The blue hues still in the air from twilight hour, prior to the sun fully hitting the lake and enough early morning light to make the white plumage glow, contrasting against the blue.
